Jellyfish Connect mentors students in ACE training programme
Carola York, MD of Jellyfish Connect mentors on Association of Circulation Executives training programme.
The Association of Circulation Executives (ACE), is a not-for-profit trade association which brings together executives from the field of newspaper and magazine publishing, news wholesaling, distribution, services and retailing. Its aims to foster fellowship, friendship, and the exchange of ideas, to promote a wider knowledge and understanding of the circulation function, and to raise and maintain professional standards within the industry.
Carola York, Managing Director of Jellyfish Connect, has been on the General Committee of ACE since 2015.
As well as sitting on the Marketing sub-committee, Carola acts as a mentor for students taking part in ACE’s annual Empower training programme. This course is set up for new talent working in the industry to help them develop an in-depth understanding of the whole supply chain. Participants come face-to-face with over 30 industry experts across 12 half day seminars covering distribution, printing, wholesaling, digital, subscriptions, retailing and alternative business models.
During the Digital module of the course, Carola presents an overview of Digital Publishing (see presentation below), explaining all the various digital platforms and distribution options available to publishers today. She also acts as a mentor for the group of students who are now in the process of preparing their final presentation on the topic of How do we stitch digital and print together in a multi-channel strategy to sell more newspaper and magazine product?. They will present this on 27 September in front of a group of senior industry executives at the offices of the Mail Newspapers in London.
